Jaguar Field Hockey Team Advances to the Elite Eight in Region Tourney

It wasn't raining for a change, but that seemed to make no difference to the Jaguar Varsity Field Hockey team. Playing on a chilly Saturday afternoon at Oakton High School in the first round of the regional tournament, the Jags took on the mighty Titans of T.C. Williams. The first half ended in a scoreless tie, but the Jaguars came out in the second half determined to score and finally broke through with less than ten minutes remaining in the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Titans responded with a goal of their own and the game ended 1-1 in regulation. In the overtime period the action was up and down the field until late in the first overtime period when the Jaguars scored a sudden victory goal to take the match 2-1.

The Jaguars will take on Marshall High School on Monday evening at 7:30 pm at Oakton. Come out and support the Jaguars as they try to advance to the final four. Good Luck Jags.
