Falls Church wallops Wakefield

The Jaguars look impressive in their first win against district opponent Wakefield. The offense was led by Senior QB Joey “Long Ball” Collins with 2 TD passes to bring his
season total to 5. He is currently on pace to throw 20+. The ball was evenly spread around with 2 two passes going to RJ Davis who has just returned from wrist surgery.
He looked pretty good in limited action. Scoring Td’s were Rashad Meadows, Tony Collins, Jose Perez and Hau Che. Hau also had a spectacular 95-yard touchdown run negated by a penalty.

The defense was able to pitch a shutout despite many penalties late in the game that allowed the Warriors to get in the Red Zone twice. The defense was all over the place. There 6 sacks by 6 different people. On the season there are 9 players with at least 1 sack.
Darnell “Smokey” Pendleton had 13 total tackles with Eric “Big White”Bruyette and Tony “Wildman” Collins chipping in 8 and 7 tackles respectively. Collins also blocked a punt, which Lehi Ruiz returned for a TD, once he realized he could run.

Thanks for the support of all the parents, students and fans. Please come out to the game this week at South County (the new high school in Lorton, VA). They have an awesome stadium and the game will be televised on Fairfax Sports Network (Cox 35).
