Ht, Wt 6’1 205
Football Experience: 11 yrs (3 year Varsity Starter)
Born: Fairfax, VA. Age: 17

Tony Collins is a 3-year Varsity Player. He was a starter as a sophomore at Defensive End. As a junior, Tony was a starting linebacker and fullback. Tony was third on team in tackles with 72. He also had 3 fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown. He was also the second leading rusher on the team and chipped in one offensive touchdown. This
year Tony is switching offensive positions to Wide Receiver and so far the results have been impressive. In two scrimmages Tony has four touchdown receptions and over 200 yards receiving. The coaching staff believes that Tony can be an all-region receiver. Tony is also a standout baseball player. He currently has major league scouts taking a look at him.

Having Tony in the program for 4 years has been a pleasure. Coach Parker and I still remember when he walked through the door on “Luther Jackson Day” as an impressive looking 8th grader. We both looked at each and said “Whoa”. We weren’t disappointed.
Tony is a very intense player and looks for opportunities to get better. When he is on the football field he always goes full speed. Every time he makes a great play I tell him how much he better he can become (last 3 years) but I think he understands what I mean. He has unlimited potential.

What does Tony have to say?

Q. What has been one of the hardest about playing football for you??

A. Reading the QB and trying to understand your opponent

Q. What do you think is your greatest asset as a football player?

A. With the switch to WR I believe that its my “hands” (I think his ability to do a variety of things on the field is an asset)

Q. Where would you go on your ultimate vacation?

A. Puerto Rico…I’m half Puerto Rican and I’ve never been there.

Q. Who is you favorite athlete?

A. Ken Griffey Jr.

Q. How do you mentally prepare for a game?

A. I find a quiet location and sit and focus on my assignments for the game.

Q. What do you think bout Hurricane Katrina?

A. This is probably the worst time of the year. I believe that if people are able, they should donate money to help with the relief efforts.
