Girls Varsity Basketball
|Falls Church High School||42|
|West Potomac -Joe Cascio Holiday Tournament||54|
Although falling to the West Potomac Wolverines in the finals, Coach Pritchett's Lady Jaguars completed their most successful Cascio Tournament and have still maintained their best season start for the school in at least 20 years with a record of seven wins against three losses. The chief reason for such a strong start: OFFENSE! The Lady Jags currently average 52 points per game (by contrast the Lady Jags between 2008-2012 had not a single 50-point game in any game played in those four seasons).
Individual Tournamant highlights:
* Senior Nyeisha Thompson snared 17 rebounds in the first game against Mountain View -- an unmatched feat by any Lady Jaguar in any game in recent memory
* Sophomore Amari Faust's 28-point game against Mountain View is the single-game highest point production by any FC player in the past 11 years.
* Junior Sierra Kennard's five "3s" in the final against West Potomac matches the most by any Lady Jaguar in a single game in at least 11 years (last tallied by Leah Shaw in 2016 and Jenny Vique in 2012 -- both against Stuart HS). For the seventh time in her career, Kennard has either reached or exceeded the 20-point plateau in a game.
* Senior Leah Shaw's "3s" in the tournament place her just two shy of 100 for her career at Falls Church HS. Approaching a career combination of 550 points/350 rebounds, this joint statistic is currently the second highest for a FCHS Girls Basketball player for the century (exceeded only by Leann Loch, 2012-2016).
Scoring Summary: Sierra Kennard, 21 points; Amari Faust, 8 points; Rasha Benhamida, 6 points; Mia Pendleton, 4 points; Leah Shaw, 3 points.
